Remembrance of majestic!
This is a lithograph of Mount Mayon when it was still steeply conical, and deeply magical. It is appropriate to see this image today, as live lava now flowing down its mountainsides may morph its geometric shape. The lith is printed by Meunier in 1885 based on a drawing of A. Slom who sketched geographic scenes mainly from Africa. This is one of the few extant images from Asia. He based this drawing on an early Daguerreograph image issued by the Museum of Ethnographie, France.
